Clinical Pathways in T2D Care:

Overcoming Inertia, Implementing Innovation

Fellows Scholar Program

Overview

Managing T2D Beyond Glucose Control Fellows Scholar Program (#T2D) is an intensive, 1.5-day immersion program on clinical aspects of T2D, with a focus on co-occurrence of obesity with elevated A1C and other cardiometabolic risk factors, applications of incretin therapy, and intensification strategies and therapies in the management of T2D. This program offers fellows, final year residents, PA's, NP's, and clinicians who have completed their fellowship within the last 1-2 years the opportunity to interact with nationally recognized T2D experts in both didactic and small-group settings. There is no cost for those chosen to attend.

Supported by an independent educational grant from Lilly.

Learning Objectives

  1. Assess the impact and interplay of obesity with elevated A1C and other cardiometabolic risk factors in individuals with T2D.
  2. Evaluate GLP-1 RA and GIP/GLP-1 RA incretin therapies for T2D based on MOA, safety, efficacy, and benefits beyond glycemic control.
  3. Incorporate appropriate evidence-based intensification strategies and therapies to the care of individuals with T2D.
